Gretchen H. Garrigues
Global Chief Marketing Officer
Gretchen Garrigues is Global Chief Marketing Officer for Manulife, responsible for Manulife’s global marketing and communications. She is a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team and Head of the Global Marketing Leadership Team.
In her role leading the global marketing and communications team, Gretchen focuses on global branding as well as ensuring that marketing strategies and the customer experience support global business growth.
Prior to joining Manulife, Gretchen served as First Data’s Global Chief Marketing Officer, and led marketing efforts to deliver on First Data’s 2015 IPO as well as being responsible for strengthening First Data’s brand, growing demand for its products and supporting its sales organization with digital tools to drive revenue.
Gretchen has a deep financial services background and leadership skills developed over a long career with GE Capital. Joining GE Capital in 1997 in the firm’s Paris office, her tenure at GE spanned sixteen years during which she held marketing leadership positions of increasing responsibility across a wide array of financial products and services delivering financial impact through a data driven approach to marketing.
Gretchen excels at driving innovation and growth through branding & communications, digital/social media, data analytics & insights, sales force optimization and improving the customer experience.
Prior to joining GE Capital, Gretchen served as a Foreign Trade Officer for the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service based in Paris. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
